I am a professional guitarist with over 30 years of experience playing in a wide variety of styles including classical, jazz, latin, blues, rock and pop. I am extremely versatile and can cater for a wide range of musical tastes and is well suited for providing the right vibe for your event whether it be your wedding, party or corporate event. 

I’ve been playing guitar since I was 8 years old and I’m a lot older than that now!  I think I perform music because I simply love it, and all the more when people really enjoy what I play for them. I was classically trained from the start and when I left school I got the jazz bug and learned a lot of the standards from the great American songbook. I also played in a few bands and later on went on to study music at university where I gained a degree in music and gained a first for my final performance which was focusing on some of my favourite jazz and rock artists. 

Performing highlights of my career so far have to be touring Europe and the UK with the Gavin Harrison & 05Ric band (2012-3) performing at the Blue Note jazz club in Milan, Boerderij in Zoetermeer Holland, O2 Academy in Islington, Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham. We shared the bill with Tony Levin (David Bowie, King Crimson) and Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, Mr Mister). I have also appeared on television on an episode of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway playing the banjo with Little Mix! I have also performed at various festivals including Strawberry Fair, Cambridge Rock Festival, Ely Folk Festival and The Big Weekend in Cambridge where we appeared on the bill with Boney M and The Selector in 2016. There’s lots more but too much to write here! 

These days, I am very busy teaching all styles of guitar, banjo and bass guitar during the week but am keen to do more performing at weekends including Fridays. It is partly through teaching and performing that I am able to play such a wide repertoire of classical pieces ranging from Dowland, Bach, Handel and Vivaldi, Mozart, Haydn, Sor, Carcassi, Tarrega, Albeniz, Villa Lobos and Piazzolla. However, for those with more contemporary pop tastes I can play arrangements of anything from Eric Clapton to Norah Jones to Gnarls Barcley.
